The largest variant of the A350 family, the A350-1000 is designed to replace the A340-600 and compete with the Boeing 777-300ER. The largest aircraft used by Virgin Atlantic, they operate 12 in their fleet. Each Virgin aircraft has a name, usually feminine, this one is named “Ruby Slipper” and the classic Flying Lady has been replaced with Flying Icons to represent modern Britain (in this case- Mei). First flown in 2016, more than 370 have been ordered.
