As Sussex Wedding Photographers, this has to be one of my favorite weddings shot by us over the summer.
I’m sorry to say that it wasn’t even one that I had the direct pleasure in capturing. Helen & Ben’s day was captured magnificently by our Associate photographer, Oana.
Not only did she shoot the day well, she also recorded some beautiful audio of the ceremony and wedding breakfast speeches. All rich material for myself, to edit, telling their wedding day story in the photofilm below.
Helen & Ben’s wedding was a magical summer church wedding at St Mary’s Church, Aldingbourne, West Sussex.A stunning church setting the scene with the bells ringing out, and classical music announcing the arrival of the bride.
Guests were transported from the ceremony by coach to the quaint village green in Burpham. An awaiting band greeted the guests to live music whilst they relaxed & enjoyed the sun relaxing over drinks and canapés on the green.
What makes this wedding memorable for me, is the insight shared between Helen, Ben and their closest family.
Not only do we have beautiful images capturing the details, the preparations, the ceremony, speeches and party – we also have their words.
A rich tapestry, a beautiful story shared with everyone on the day. A very public statement and show of affection.
The story of a couple who met 12 years ago through work, who have traveled well together and shared so much. Their many gathered friends from around the world, together for the day to share in their celebration.
Packed with heartfelt emotion and a good balance of humour, Helen & Ben’s day is exactly how I would like to capture my own wedding.
Oana did a terrific job capturing everything she did, from the photography to the audio recordings, working around the videographers. Brilliant work!
