*Surprising Him on Valentine’s Day!
We all can all get into a rut with gift buying but sometimes some of the romance of Valentine’s Day can be lost if we don’t step outside of our comfort zone. If you want to surprise your man this February why not get a gift that the both of you can enjoy? Kills two birds with one stone and is technically saving money too!

Here are some fun little ideas if you're struggling!
Get Competitive  If the two of you enjoy a little friendly rivalry in your relationship and you both love driving, then why not book a track day. Not only will you both get to drive your dream cars, a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin or a McLaren maybe, but you also get to compete against each other as to who gets the best lap time.
There will always be the eternal question as to who are the better drivers when it comes to men versus women, and this is the perfect opportunity to see who comes out on top between the two of you.
Dining In  Instead of the usual fight for a table at your local restaurant, it can be a lovely Valentine’s date to dine at home for once. You can decorate the table beautifully, light some candles and both get dressed up smartly for the evening. If you don’t want the hassle of doing too much cooking, either prepare everything beforehand or go the high end ready-meal route, after a couple of glasses of wine neither of you will notice the difference. Even better if you can't get a babysitter, once the little ones are in bed, it's your night :)
To round off the evening you could treat your man to a single malt whisky and a cigar. The Cigar Club offers varieties from around the world, but you can’t go far wrong with a Cuban cigar for an air of luxury, I don't know any man that wouldn't appreciate one!
Time Away  Another perfect surprise is to whisk your man away for the Valentine weekend. For short stays such as these it’s better to not involve too much travel time. Therefore, think UK or Europe for your break, so that it’s only a short drive, train ride or flight away.
There is a wealth of options available depending on how you prefer to spend your time. If you want culture and nightlife then head to a capital city such as London, Edinburgh, Paris or Rome. If you want to relax and enjoy the countryside then hiring a cosy cottage can be the perfect antidote to a busy lifestyle. If you want something completely out of the ordinary The Landmark Trust allows you to book a castle for the weekend, now that truly would be a surprise for your man.
Any of these gifts are the polar opposites of the usual fare that we get presented with on Valentine’s Day and it can be nice to surprise your man with something totally unexpected. Now you just have to wait and see if he has been just as imaginative, even if he hasn’t this year, your gift to him will ensure the bar is raised for future Valentine’s Days.
For The Home  Valentine’s Day is just twenty-four hours long but if you purchase a gift for your home you will both be enjoying it for years to come. Much as we all like to think that we spend our relationships in a whirr of heady dates, the reality is often very different. Usually a great proportion of the time with our significant other is spent cuddled up on the sofa enjoying the latest must-watch TV boxset.
It makes practical sense therefore to invest in furniture that you both love and which brings both comfort and style to your lives. Masculine preferences in furniture usually lean towards clean lines and neutral colours, which are perfectly illustrated by the designs of BoConcept, and both of which fit perfectly the modern minimalist look.
What are your plans?
