Supreme Court takes suo moto notice of Shahzeb Khan’s assassination
The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday took the suo moto notice of the assassination of Shahzeb Khan, the 20-year-old son of DSP Aurangzeb ho was allegedly murdered by the nephew of an influential feudal Shahrukh Jatoi in Defence area of Karachi on Tuesday night, and directed the authorities to submit a report with respect to the case.
The Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took the suo moto action after reviewing the news reports on various newspapers, which suggested that the police have failed to arrest the men accused in Shahzeb Khan’s murder.
Chief Justice ordered IG Sindh and Advocate General Sindh to appear before court on Friday.
The murder of Shahzeb Khan resulted from a small argument he had with Nawab Siraj Talpur, when the latter’s servant harassed his sister. Talpur and his friend, Jatoi, allegedly followed Shahzeb and gunned him down near the Country Club within the remit of Darakhshan police station.
