Four friends plus a supper club that has been going for over twenty five years adds up to an incredible amount of meals cooked together and shared with love. We've had loads of fun and laughter, sampled many bottles of wine, and eaten some spectacular meals. This is our latest meal cooked from the beautiful cookbook JAN - A Breath of French Air.
Our menus have been varied over the years but the one factor that has remained constant, is that each recipe has to be something new that we have never tried before. It has been great fun planning the menus and inviting new and old friends to eat with us. The thing about cooking something new means that there is no guarantee it is going to turn out right, but our guests are always forewarned about this, and one thing is for sure, they will have a great time regardless of the food.
As I was hosting Supper Club it was my turn to make the main course and to invite our guests. To challenge our cooking skills this month the whole meal was made from Jan's beautiful new cookbook.
Tomato and Crab Salad with Basil PestoBeautiful Crab Mousse and imported Buffallo mozzarella over a fresh Basil Pesto and a medley of vine tomatoes, made by Cheryl .
The shoulder and leg of lamb was deboned, butterflied and filled with a Herb Gremolata and topped with an Almond and Green Olive crust and roasted until pink and juicy.
Roasted Asparagus and Leeks with Anchovy and Bacon - so easy to prepare the day before ready to be popped into the oven .
Parmesan Courgette Fries - coated with Panko and Parmesan and ready to be oven baked.
Milk Tart with Poached FruitThis amazing dessert that Noeleen made had five different components. Milk tart topped with poached pears and quince and Caramel Pistachio Tuille. This was plated with honeycomb crunch and caramel.
The recipes for this meal are not available on my blog .
