Watch out the Germans are coming!

German Discounter Lidl is planning on conquering the USA. You can compare Lidl supermarkets to Aldi supermarkets. Though personally I like Lidl stores better. Especially right now, because they’re selling running skirts!

Lidl running skirts for 9,23 USD

For several years now, during Summer, Lidl has been selling running skirts. I ‘ve always been too cheap to buy them, but this Summer I succumbed. All in the name of research of course. How else am I’m going to write a product review about them?!

Lidl running skirt: Crivit Sports brand

The Lidl running skirt is clearly a German brand, because on the front of the packaging it says: ‘Laufrock with Innenhose’. This means: ‘Running skirt with inner pants’. The packaging makes the following promises:

  • Ideal for all running sports
  • Reflective elements for better visibility
  • Comfortable fit
  • TOPCOOL materiaal tranports your sweat away from your body
  • Inner pants
  • Water and dirt resistant thanks to BIONIC FINISH ECO

Lidl running skirt: look and feel

When I first opened the packaging and took out the skirt, I was disappointed. The material of the skirt seems a bit ‘nasty’. It’s almost crispy to the touch. And it made a rustling sound when I wore the skirt. The inner tights seemed a bit too short for my liking.

What’s it made off?

So, it didn’t look and feel all that great, but what is this Lidl skirt made off?

Skirt

  • 90% polyester
  • 10% elasthan

Tights

  • 90% polyester, of which 45% is TOPCOOL
  • 10% Lycra

Taking the Lidl running skirt for a run

This morning I got up extra early, to get my run in, before it got too hot. And obviously I took my new Lidl running skirt for a spin! My expectations were really low, but I have to say: I was very pleasantly suprised! The tights did nót ride up at all, and the running skirt felt great too. It’s got the perfect length: not too short, not too long. It really felt much better than I had anticipated.

Lidl running skirt: summing up

This cheap running skirt is worth your money. The only thing it lacks are pockets! There’s nowhere to put your house key or anything else. But for this price, maybe you can’t expect pockets? On a scale of 1 to 10 I’ld give this running skirt a 7. Pockets would get it to an 8. If you’re just starting out as a runner and don’t want to spend too much money (yet) on running clothes, this running skirt is a decent option.

How much do you spend on running clothes per month?
