Superdrug Haul

By Bambileigh

Guess who bought more things… in my defence I haven’t bought makeup for ages! I’d like to say that I’ve been restrained and walked away from temptation but if I’m honest the real reason I haven’t bought anything is because I never have any change and you have to pay for parking in town… I still think I’ve done well though! Right?! Let’s just get into what I’ve bought shall we…

I’ve been looking for a cream blush for a while as I’ve never tried a cream, only powder. I was about to give up when I spotted this one from Revlon. It’s available in three shades and I picked up this one in ‘Charmed Enchantment’ for £7.99 and let me tell you – it is the prettiest and most natural looking blush I have ever smeared on my face. Please excuse the fact that I used it before I showed you guys, but I was impatient! You can apply it with your fingers but it looks amazing when applied with the Real Techniques cheek brush!

I’ve really been enjoying the Maybelline ‘Baby Skin’ primer, but I’ve been looking a bit… well, shit lately. I look tired all the time, so I dediced to give the ‘Fatigue Blur’ primer a go (£7.99), and I grabbed it in the shade/tone/tint ‘Cool Rose’ which blends into my natural colouring lovely. I pop this on after I’ve washed my face and before I put any foundation on and I have to say I have noticed a difference when I use this, but I get the same results with Look Beauty’s ‘Perk Me Up’ primer which is cheaper, but since that brand seems to have disappeared this will definitely take it’s place! Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying it’s magical – I still look shit but at least I look a bit more awake!

I must have been feeling pretty crappy and tired the day I went shopping because the next thing I picked up was an eye lid primer by Makeup Revolution which is designed to brighten the eye area! It does brighten but I don’t think it makes eyeshadow last any longer than normal on me. But having said that I do wear my eyeshadow for 10+ hours… so let’s rephrase that and say I haven’t noticed a difference in how my eyeshadow lasts/stays put, but it was only £2.50 so I can’t complain! You can also get this primer in ‘Matte’ and ‘Original’ so if you don’t like the shimmery tan shade of this one I’m pretty sure one of the others would be clear.

I’ve left the best ’til last. I really really have. I am in LOVE with this palette, it’s all I’ve used since I bought it. This my friends, is the ‘Flawless’ palette by Makeup Revolution for £8. You get 32 shades in a mixture of matte and shimmer that will take you from day to night. This could be the only eyeshadow palette that you owned and you would be sorted for any occassion or mood. I’m not even being paid to say any of this, I just love it THAT much! The possibilities are literally endless with this bad boy. The only con I have is that the box it comes in is a gorgeous rose gold kind of shade and looks gorgeous, but then when you actually take the palette out it’s just a shiny black… that is literally the only thing that bugs me about this!
I was going to do full swatches for you guys but my camera doesn’t pick up how gorgeous the shades are in the pan, let alone on my weird skin! You’ll just have to trust me and buy it. I’ll be genuinely shocked if you don’t like this palette!
