Sunburnt Dancing in a New Saddle

By Kc2610 @kc2610
Seb has kept up his "dancing" in the past few days, but this is certainly not the end of the story - it's only just getting started! Once we has grasped this way of going, the task is to maintain it and make it better, going for more expression, cadence and elasticity. That is no doubt a task of a lifetime, so we'd better start now to achieve as much of it as we can!

We have had some trouble getting a saddle to fit both Seb and I. I have ended up riding in a very old Passier saddle of Leonies' that is used on the ponies. Finally we got an appointment with genius saddle fitter Carston Engelke (mastermind behind Prestige D1 technology)  who came this afternoon to look at the situation with Seb. It was tricky, but we might have found our saddle. A Passier ABS, which has air flocking. There just needs to be a few adjustments which Carsten will make tonight, then I'll pick it up from his saddlery tomorrow morning and see how it goes! I usually always ride in a Prestige D1, which I first discovered three years ago when I first came to Leonie and blogged my first Prestige saddle fitting with Carsten HERE. However, we have come to the conclusion that Seb just isn't a D1 horse.
Because I could finally breathe and relax once I was able to finally get somewhere with Seb, I decided to spend a couple of afternoons at the lake/beach down the road from my hotel. I felt like I deserved it and needed it (rewarding yourself in your own way is important!). It was absolutely gorgeous weather, 30 degree heat and not a cloud in the sky. I made the most of the sun alright, I got so burnt I could hardly lie down at night. And riding? Ouchhh... bending down to do Seb's bandages was certainly a challenge. But hey, at least I can wear shorts now without preparing with the fake tan.
