It’s been quite a summer here in Woodinville Wine Country…
While what goes on in the Tasting Room stays in the Tasting Room…I’ve learned that what makes Woodinville Wine Country special isn’t just the guests we enjoy from all over the world, but also all the cool neighbors in the Hollywood ‘hood and Warehouse districts.
As summer wine-ds down, and Fall crushes upon us, I’ll be focusing on some of the fine folks that comprise Woodinville Wine Country, before heading to France in October to geek-out with the French Wine Society‘s Master of Burgundy Immersion Program.
The program is no walk in the park, though we do get to taste through all of Burgundy’s AOC’s, starting with Chablis, and including Côte de Nuit, Côte de Beane, Côte Chalonaisse, and the Mâconnais.
In between, I struggle to cram in studies, extra readings, tastings, plus exams…all for a region that has captivated, maddened, intrigued, frustrated, bedazzled, beraggled, inspired and exasperated me in equal measure over the years: Burgundy – birthplace of Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir – a grape many consider the most mysterious and expressive of varietals.
I travel to Burgundy eager to view vineyards and taste through barrels and pair bottles with the local cuisine – as well as converse with those that comprise the heart of Pinot Noir Nation.
But in the meantime, I still have my neighbors here in Woodinville Wine Country to enjoy!
Stay tuned… et Santé!
