All my life I have dealt with body-image issues: I never liked my arms, my tummy, my triangle body shape.......and the list goes on, but I've never let this come in my way of dressing up. With years of trial-and-error, I can now say that I've triumphantly decoded the mystery behind dressing for my body-type, which means no body-cons, no mega sleeves, no stretch and jersey materials. It is hard not to be able to enjoy all the seasonal trends, but working my outfit based on my body-type, around those trends- is now a piece of cake. For instance, the other day I just wore a cropped top and I didn't feel one bit conscious. The top was cropped but still long enough to hide my tummy flaws. You could see it for yourself post here...
Anyways, sexy-open-backs, noodle-straps have enjoyed a fair share of fame this summer. I had been wanting to try one, and if you remember this dress, which was a more demure way of wearing sexy-back, I thought I did good.
But today, I was feeling more dare-devilish and decided to break out this new damsel in town. It is fun, floral, flirty and black- another easy way to camouflage all bumps and fat....lol ! I like how it has a drawstring-waist and not an elastic one. The dress hits mid-calf, which would be my ideal length- preference in a midi dress. If you decide buying it, I would suggest sizing down, it does fit loose.
I so urged wearing high heels, which knowing myself would have been the first choice, but I wanted to think outside the box, hence the flats. And why not, when the flats are so cool, have metal heel, and idealize casual-meets-glam, who wouldn't like wearing them???? They do remind me of the Aquazzura ones , but I am glad I found my substitute, and for a lot less. With due intentions of matching my lips and the shoes, my fall favorite lipstick from +MAC Cosmetics is revisiting. Honestly speaking, I think I could have done better with my hair, an up-do or even a low pony have looked chic. But overall, a look perfect for day out with friends...
