4th July is almost upon us and it's the time again to get your grills all cranked up and your favorite red, white and blue pieces dusted off and made ready to see some fireworks. But if you ain't the grilling types, there are other ways you could partake the 4th July celebrations.
1) GO THE SARTORIAL ROUTE- don a red, white & blue look. Go for the classic american look by pairing a white button front blouse with a pair of blue denims and top it off with a killer pair of red heels or a sweep of red lipstick.
2) FOURTH JULY OUTDOOR BBQ/PICNIC - a mid week picnic is always a good idea. Plan a potluck picnic, if planning everything yourself seems tedious. Have a plan and let your guests of the same. This will help them decide what to bring to the party. If you have access to a pool, then go for a splash theme. Make sure you have plenty of towels...- whomp whomp !
I AM WEARING
dress- J.Crew, buy same ( thicker stripes Michael Kors option, more structured option )
heels- Nine West via TJ Maxx ( love this one )
bag- TJ Maxx ( on my radar )
3) FIREWORKS - if you are in the DMV ( DC, Maryland, Virginia ) area, then this is a must. There are several viewing spots: National mall being the popular and preferred one. If not for the National mall, then Hanes point, Potomac river and river cruises, are some of the other spots fro where you can marvel the fireworks.
4) CONCERT HOPPING- Most of the restaurants/pubs, usually have some live music arrangement, on the day of Independence day. Not only do they serve specialty cocktails on this day, but also offer discounts and run several promotions. So grab a few friends, grab a few drinks and ride either Uber or Lyft on your way back home.
5) CHILL AT HOME- not feeling the patriotic vibes, then stay home in your pj's, order pizza delivery and binge watch Netflix. That is also an american thing.....
