Studding! Tips And Tricks!

By Georgina_clare_ @Georgina_Clare_
Hellooo! Recently I have been completely ambushed by homework and assessments, so now that I've got those out the way I though I would share with you how I mange all my school work. If you have any other tips on how you like to study, tell me in the comments below. Enjoy!
1. ElectronicsHave will power! If you have your phone next to you, the TV on and your on Twitter/Facebook your not going to get any work done. Turn the TV off/on mute and leave your phone either in your bag or the other side of the table your working on. This really does help because you will lose focus on what you are writing if you are in a room full of distractions.

Personally I like to be in my bedroom, out of the way from other people -either on my bed or on my desk- and put all my help sheets and text books around me. Then I go onto youtube play an album for someone I really like and put it on a low volume as background noise. Your 'study spot' could be anywhere; living room, kitchen table, library/school library.Studding! Tips And Tricks!3. NotesIf like me you live in the UK, you will have to take down all your notes in either black or blue ink pens. So when it comes to revising and you look at page, you get bored very quickly. What I like to do it use highlighters. I take yellow of key words and important information and use green for any other things like topics that will be in upcoming tests.
Studding! Tips And Tricks!4. RevisingThere are so many ways you could make revising easier for yourself if you don't find sitting in your room effective. For example you could:
  • Ask a friend to 'peer study' with you. This is when you meet up with a friend/classmate and take all your books to one place to help each other on a topic you might both be struggling with. You can share ideas and as they always say; two minds are better than one! Make sure if you do this to strict rules so that do don't just start talking about something irrelevant. Work an then party!
  • Use an old test. Unless you are resetting the same test again your teacher will have no problem with you asking to take home you paper to revise from. Once you have go the test back you can see which questions you got full marks in and the questions you didn't understand or get good marks in. This method really helps me in science.
  • Acronyms! This is such a good way to remember things like spelling. Of course you could do it for other things but I am always using acronyms for my language classes. I take both German and French which can get really confusing so when I have a vocab test coming up (a mini assessment just to see if you have understood the topic, manly tested for spelling.) In the picture I used the word 'zwei' which means two in German. Then I think of words that would fit to match the starting letter. I chose 'Zebras Won't Eat Igloos.' I made that up a year ago and I still use it.

Stop for 5-20 minutes, go and get something to eat, have a drink, watch some TV and talk to your mom and then when you ready to go back you'll have a fresh mind and you'll feel a lot calmer. Food for you is food for your brain!Studding! Tips And Tricks!6. PrepareI am so bad at preparing for a test as I like to leave it to the last night and bombard myself with piles and piles for topics I need to know. This is so bad as even looking through your notes a week for a couple of days before will really help.Studding! Tips And Tricks!7. Don't StressIf you find yourself at home finding a subject really hard to revise, ask around. Ask sibling, parents, friends in your class and the internet. The internet is your friend when it come to homework as long as you don't click on the youtube link - you know you've done that before!Studding! Tips And Tricks!.Georgina Clare.
