Street Art Signpainters

By Carolineld @carolineld

High on an Amsterdam street are these tiny characters, working hard at painting a replacement for a missing street sign.

Photo of a street corner. On one side is a normal street sign, but around the corner are two little figures with a paint can. The cartoonish figures are holding up a street sign they have just painted.

They are the work of Frankey, a prolific Amsterdam street artist. As he explain on his Instagram, the pair are on their second visit to Reguliersgragt. An earlier installation disappeared, so this version replaced them a couple of years ago. It's higher up than the first version, so hopefully they will be at work for some time to come!

A close-up view of the two figures in the previous photo.
