Straight Talk: Invisalign the Clear Alternative Choice
As a kid and as an adult, I never paid much attention to the small gap I have in between my two front teeth. I guess no one else paid attention as well because no one has ever mentioned my gap to me. During my teenage years, I did consider getting braces, but was totally turned off by having metal braces that limited what you could eat and required you to visit the dentist once a month. I know the limitations of braces because my brother who possessed the same gap I have, had his braces removed last week; just in time for his senior prom this Friday. Some of the major problems my brother faced were various food restrictions, monthly appointments to tighten/fix loose wires, and he had a harder time brushing his teeth. I honestly don’t think I could have made it 3.5 years like he did. The major benefits of Invisalign includes a clear removable aligner that requires less office visits and alleviates the problems my brother had with his traditional braces. I find myself asking why we didn’t explore this option for my brother when he decided to get braces.
