More connection, energy and style than you could shake a stick at!
Steve & Rob’s celebration was our first experience of working as a Gay Wedding Photographer.
Love and connection between the couple, their family and friends was celebrated to the full. Beautiful moments captured, with so much of it freely flowing, from their precise planning and attention to detail.
We were absolutely blown away. Every where we looked, we could see how much thought Steve and Rob had been in their plans. From the suits to the place settings, colour palettes to the balloon release – nothing had been left to chance
The Journey
I first met the couple around 18 months ago, Steve having come across my work and loving our approach to capturing weddings. Their excitement was obvious and it was clear that Steve would be ‘the’ main organiser behind this epic day.
As time drew close, the emails flew back and forth with updates to the plans and the various suppliers to be used. Initially there was an array of fellow wedding professionals, then this list started to dwindle. Each supplier in turn having their name and contact details changed over to ‘Stephen James’.
Stephen James grew the flowers, Stephen James made the decorations, place cards, seating plan, menu, napkins, table name holders, confetti cones, balloon release hashtag labels, hot chocolate favours, sparkler label signs and even signature cocktails. All these and more, planned, perfected and presented by Steve James Ltd!
Gay Wedding Photographer at Minterne House
It was a privilege to capture this wedding celebration. Steve & Rob gave everything they had to this day. Their love and connection to each other, was shared and mirrored by all those gathered to celebrate. This energy making our job of capturing great imagery so much easier.
Two wonderful venues – Minterne House for the ceremony and then back to Lesley Waters Cookery school for a marquee reception.
Minterne House being chosen for its grandeur and beautiful gardens and the reception location being chosen as this is where Steve has been training as a chef for a number of years. His extraordinary talent and relationship with Lesley, resulting in her debut into the Wedding venue market.
It was also our first same sex wedding. It was important for us to deliver great work. Steve & Rob’s wedding was the perfect opportunity to align our own passions for capturing wedding day celebrations equally with theirs.
We hope we have done just that! Capturing a unique day within our own style.
We cant wait to finish their VideoFusion film from the day, harnessing a blend of audio recordings, videography and pictures. Our thanks go out to Steve & Rob for allowing us the freedom to work creatively upon something new, we are sure you’re going to love it!
Second shooting with me on the day was George Melente, who did a great job covering Rob’s preparations along with various video filming input.
If you are planning your own gay wedding and looking for a gay wedding photographer, we would love to hear from you.
