I have a confession to make……..I have fallen in love with some necklaces and I do believe I have to have them all now. There is something so perfect about HUGE necklaces, not the itty bitty tiny ones, no I am talking about the ones that become part of your clothing. So, to share the love, I have picked some of my favorites for summer this year. Now, I know I said summer, but in all honesty these could work all year round if styled right.
Let’s face it though -who cares what season it is, these will take over any outfit to be the stars of the show.
The Tribal – Sexy, Sultry Undertones
This necklace, from luxury designers Rosantica is a must this year. Now I know this is an investment piece, but look at it – it reminds me of seeing new flowers in spring – divine. This is the perfect choker for teaming with a black maxi skirt, plain tank top and that’s it, simple, chic and effortless.
I love the fact that this is the only choker I am going to mention here. I am not traditionally a fan of chokers as they tend to be small and fiddly to get on. This one if the perfect size though, it is not to tight and the draping lengths are great for taking the attention away from your throat and back to your bust – throats are boring anyway! The clasp is magnetic, but very strong so you wont have to worry about it getting lost. I am officially in love!
Vintage Glamour – Cute and Quirky
Remember the necklace in ‘Titanic’ well I have found it, courtesy of Chelsea Doll. This is the perfect big, bold, vintage style necklaces for making an entrance this summer. I am off to Austria in little over 1 week and what better necklace to wear whilst strolling around a museum or sitting in a coffee shop. Teamed with a classic blouse, blazer and boyfriend jeans combo – this will be the ultimate smart casual look.
This is also the perfect addition to summer weddings, the races or even family barbecues. A necklace like this will take you from garden to bar with no fuss at all.
Simply Safari – Hot and Sun kissed
I couldn’t possibly write a jewelry based post and not include an eco friendly piece. This hand beaten brass offering entitled Nungunungu, meaning porcupine in Swahili, is a winner for any summer wardrobe. This is a pool side, mojito necklace if ever I saw one. team with over sized sun glasses, a plain white T shirt and bikini bottoms for a dressed down look. Or if you are more daring, then why not drape this necklace over a black or brown, cut out swimming costume and killer heels.
Now, as always I love a versatile item and I think all these necklaces are. This one is perfect for work and play, but I would avoid for a relaxed look as it is a bold statement that may over power jeans.
