Hair & Beauty Magazine
Hi guys,Hope you guys are enjoying your Friday! If you may remember a while ago I posted about Baobella and I featured the stargazer vivid eyeshadow palette (£22).When I first saw it I was like WOW. That's one bright palette, hence it's name. It looks exactly like one of my watercolor palettes so that was another reason why I was pretty excited about it. Quite fitting for an art student. The packaging is in a metal container and the tray with the colours is plastic which can actually come out. I don't have any thing like this in terms of colours but I had fun playing around with it and hopefully I'll post some looks using it in the future. PS - Excuse the broken green eyeshadow. I think it was damaged in the posting process. Swatches in the order of the rowsThe palette consists of 10 fluorescent colours in large pans which includes (in order) a bright acid green, neon yellow, neon yellow-orange, neon pink, neon orange (with pinky undertones), fluorescent blue, red, purple, magenta and light blue. So, there is a neon tinge to all the colours as it is a fluorescent palette. Expect bright very out there colours with this. Most of them are matte but I think the purple and light blue have this very pretty sheen to it.
The quality of the palette is really nice. The eyeshadows are extremely pigmented except for the light blue in my opinion which was the only one with poor pigmentation but a primer actually fixes that. The rest have a great color payoff. Just look at that magenta and red! All swatches are layered twice only. If you want to make the eyeshadows appear more vibrant, apply them wet which I also tried and it did work. Now using these with water literally made these look like watercolor paints! I even suggest an eye primer which I think the majority of use anyway.
The texture of these eyeshadows is very smooth so when you apply them it's very easy to blend as well. Some of the shades are a ever so slightly chalky in one swipe but if you layer them twice the colours become alot more opaque. I am not saying these are bad at all when I say chalky because I am very impressed by the quality and pigmentation. Bright colours are really fun to play around with and this palette is perfect for people who really enjoy creating dramatic or artistic looks. I really like to use crazy colours when experimenting because I feel makeup is all about color. A fantastic palette for any makeup artist or anyone who is building up their makeup collection.
I am very interested in the other Stargazer palettes as well because they all look gorgeous!I would love to know your opinions on this and hope you enjoyed reading his review!Hareem x
