Stand Up to Online Bullies – The Real Facts About Cyberbullying

Posted on the 19 April 2013 by Isaydigital @isaydigital

As ever we love infographics and think they are a great way to put information in to perspective and visualise it for those that prefer to read in images. Infographics also bring data to life and make it seem real. Cyberbullying, although a fairly modern and new phrase is a very real thing. Even though the infographic talks about protecting children from cyberbullying, it’s something that happens in adult circles too.

Social media can be misused and abused by some, who use it to express their thoughts and opinions readily, when in the real world, and in real social situations, they wouldn’t dare make such comments or behave in such a way. But some members of society seem to think that hiding behind a computer makes it ok. They couldn’t be more, wrong, as the infographic goes on to explain the effects that cyber bullying can have on its victims.

Is your child being exposed by a cyberstalker? Would you know what to do if you found out that was the case? NQ Mobile has created an infographic to outline exactly what cyberbullying is (and it’s probably more than you think) and what you, as a parent, can do to prevent it. Cyberbullying is more than just online harassment.

Cyberbullying can also take the form of denigration, or starting rumors about another person for the purpose of damaging his or her reputation. Or it can even be trickery—convincing another person to reveal personal details about himself just to use as exploitation. It can also mean all-out cyberstalking, or repeated, intense harassment that includes threats or makes the victim fearful.

Cyberbullying isn’t right in any form. But many kids don’t understand the potential consequences of picking on another person online. Get more information about cyberbullying and how parents can help prevent their children from falling victim by checking out our infographic below!
