Stacking the Shelves #11

Time to look at the books I added to my shelves this week with Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews! Not necessarily books I bought - also includes books I borrowed, was given or otherwise ended up with. Weeks where I don't buy books I'll scramble around my shelves and find some books I haven't shared in a StS post yet!

1. Hate List: This has been on my TBR list forever, but I keep passing it by in favour of newer, shinier titles and covers. I've decided I need to move it back on up the list, because I really feel like I should have read it already.
2. The Survival Kit: I just loved the cover of this one. I haven't heard anything about it, I don't even remember where I got it. But I figure I'll give it a shot!
3. Vampires in the Lemon Grove and Other Stories: With this book, it was the title. I don't normally do short stories, but I the title. THE TITLE.
4. Provence, 1970: I love anything cosy and set in France. This is based on the letters and journals of M.F.K. Fisher, who recorded the interactions of Julia Child, Simone Beck, James Beard, Richard Olney and Judith Jones. Now, I don't know who all these people are. But I feel like this'll be an interesting and entertaining read.
5. The Winner's Curse: I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for this book. It's kind of historical fiction-y, which normally isn't my thing, but I've heard such good things (okay, fine, I like the cover).
6. Ask Again Later: So this one is totally Gillian Berry's fault. In case you don't know who I'm talking about, Gillian is the brains and the brawn behind Writer of Wrongs, which is one of my top favorite book blogs. Her writing is entertaining, witty, irreverent and talks me into buying way too many books. Check out her review of this book here.
7. Boy, Snow, Bird: Another one that's been all over the place lately - and in the Chapters top recommendations. It was super cheap, and I want to know what it's like. It's supposed to be a very loose re-telling of Snow White, which could go either way for me.
8. The Secret Side of Empty: Another excellent cover, but also a haunting premise. I have a feeling this one's going to be full of feels.
9. The Little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules: I mean, come on. Does this not sound amazing?
