Spring Reading Thing and Once Upon a Time

By Joyweesemoll @joyweesemoll

Spring Reading ThingWhile checking out some of the links at the Spread the Love link party over at The Steadfast Reader, I encountered a couple of posts about the Spring Reading Thing. The Spring Reading Thing is an event hosted by The Musings of a Book Addict. Sandra invites us to organize our reading for spring with a list of potential books to read this season. There are prizes available to those whose lists and wrap-up posts are linked in a timely manner — that’s tomorrow for the initial list!

I’m organizing my list by topic because of something Bryan at Still Unfinished wrote about today — I need balance in my reading!

England

finish Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson

finish Clockwork Universe by Edward Dolnick

Jane Austen's England by Roy and Lesley Adkins
Newton and the Counterfeiter by Thomas Levenson

The Illustrated Longitude by Dava Sobel

Jane Austen’s England by Roy and Leslie Adkins

London Under by Peter Ackroyd

Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens

A Guide to Dickens’ London by Daniel Tyler

Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson

England As You Like It by Susan Allen Toth

Book Club

Transatlantic by Colum McCann

Sugar in the Blood by Andrea Stuart

Substitute Me by Lori L. Tharps

Writing

finish Emotional Impact by Karl Iglesias

Wired for Story by Lisa Cron

A Poetry Handbook by Mary Oliver

Health

The Diet Fix by Yoni Freedhoff

Shades of Hope by Tennie McCarty

Fun (mostly set in England)

Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger
finish The Murders of Richard III by Elizabeth Peters

finish The Fierce Reads Anthology

Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger

An Unwilling Bride by Jo Beverly

That’s a total of 23 books, so probably at least 5 more than I’ll really read. But I want to read them all, so I’m not going to make a choice right now!

Once Upon a Time VIII
Since two of the books on my list (Clockwork Prince and Etiquette & Espionage) are fantasies, I’m going to also sign up for Once Upon a Time VII hosted by Carl at Stainless Steel Droppings.

What are your reading plans for spring?
