Spotlight On: JB Star

By Raymondleejewelers @raymondleejwlrs

Have you ever heard the Paul Simon song, She Has Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes? Well, Rafael, the founder of JB Star, has diamonds in his blood. He grew up around them. It all started back in 1946 where his father was one of the largest manufacturers of loose diamonds in Israel. Can you imagine what Rafael’s childhood was like? Well, what else can a creative boy do with diamonds if not set them in dazzling creations?

And that’s just what he did. In 1979, Rafael founded JB Star and still serves as artistic designer and visionary leader. If you know JB Star jewelry, you know it’s all about creating romance and fulfilling dreams. Rafael and his artisans have worked hard to build and maintain this reputation. In their facility on West 47th Street, right in the heart of New York City’s Diamond District, they gently craft each piece, giving it the time and attention a future heirloom needs.

They take their time because jewelry destined to be passed down to future generations has to be flawless. Using only platinum and 18k pink and white gold and only the highest quality stones, they create each piece by hand. And that’s just the beginning, each bracelet, necklace, and ring is then analyzed and inspected by hand. Only when it is deemed flawless are lasers used in the finishing process. And yet more inspections are on hand before JB Star lets a creation pass through its door.

Are you wondering what you can buy (or ask for) from JB Star? Their collections include center diamond and engagement rings; wedding, anniversary, and eternity bands, bracelets, pendants, necklaces, and earrings. And if you think a boy with diamonds in his blood has limited himself to that stone, you’d be wrong. He adds color by using fine cut sapphires, emeralds, and rubies
