SPENDING BAN 2013 – Only Buy What You Need!

By Reeseatomic @reeseatomic

There’s a lot of changes that’s happening at Atomic HQ. Not only is there Healthy 2013 in place for the entire year, I’m now enforcing the great Spending Ban 2013.

When I moved into my new place I was confronted with the amount of junk I had stored away in my room. Clothes, makeup, magazines, stationary… stuff! There was a ridiculous amounts of it which I had to throw out because there was so way I could fit it all in my new place.

Even when I had settled in my new home I still culled a lot of stuff post-move. Makeup mostly. Products that I had received yet haven’t used or out of date. There was no chance I was going to get through it all. Not in this lifetime, nor the next three. My makeup drawers were out of control! A ridiculous amount of makeup that is well and truly unhealthy.

So, what I’m going to be doing in 2013 is going on a spending ban. I’m going to do a lot of Project X Pan, using up what makeup and beauty products I already have. I’ve always seem to fail miserably with Project X Pan, so it’ll be a good challenge.
I’m also documenting all of my monthly empties and I’m hoping to see the end of at least six products every month.

The only time I’m ever going to spend money is when I repurchase my holy grail products and ONLY after they’re finished – not before.

Products include: skincare, shampoo/conditioner, soap/body wash and my basic makeup (eyeliner, makeup wipes, etc).

I didn’t realize this before, I don’t actually wear a lot of a makeup. I wear the same makeup look everyday, no matter what occasion – work, a night out or coffee with friends. So the need to have excessive amounts of beauty products and makeup is unnecessary.

This year I will NOT fall for any makeup collections or buy lip balms unless I really need them. (Unless it’s Jack Black, it’s highly unlikely.)
