Our first day shooting as Southover House Wedding Photographers, was captured by Associate photographer Oana.
I’ve been there before, most times for bridal preparations, so this was a first with the main party being held within the grounds.
Alice & Will held their service at the nearby Affpuddle church. Their choices being perfect for a relaxed Marquee Wedding Dorset. Both full of charm, yet the couple brought with them some of their very own, within the locally sourced suppliers, many being friends of the couple.
Scanning through the brilliant images captured by Oana, many things caught my eye. The dilapidated old Rolls Royce that looked like it had just rolled out of an old storage barn for one! Bloody hell what a find and what a thing to wheel out at a wedding – a real beauty just as it is. Shabby chic – this has it all along with being the elite of marques.
Prosecco Bikes, something every cool barbecue should have this summer. I’ve always loved old motorbikes but never thought of installing a prosecco pump to the side of one! Home made potent beers and a great party band. This wedding had energy and fun written all over it!

Good photography leads you to connect straight away with the people and the event. Seeing this set, I was immediately grabbed…thinking to myself “I wish I was there capturing that”. Well, I wasn’t – I was booked elsewhere, thats the way it goes. Oana got the gig and she worked it perfectly!
So many pictures within the day that stand big and bold. From Alice & her daughter arriving at the church (both seeming to be balling their eyes out on the car seats), to some great natural couples portraits. Great party pictures, full of movement, energy and fun.
A dancing bride, protecting her full wine glass whilst still giving it all on the dance floor. Fun filled with tender moments – balanced perfectly.
Great work Oana and congratulations Alice & Will. That was an epic wedding to have captured!
