I’m wrapping up my first season as a soccer mom, and I’d say we all did pretty darn good.
My biggest accomplishment is that I’ve managed to keep up with the entire uniform for a whole seven weeks. Socks, cleats, shinguards, shorts and jersey… that’s 8 things and I didn’t lose one!
E was by far the youngest on the team, and spent most of the season chasing the older kids around. Finally, towards the end, I think he is starting to grasp the game. He had a blast, and we’re already looking forward to signing up again in the fall.
At a few of the games, I noticed the other coaches taking the game so seriously. And maybe there are parents out there who appreciate that, but I think we we’re blessed with the best, most patient coaches. The pushed them and encouraged them, but most of all just wanted them to have fun. Seems like a pretty good deal for a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds.
This picture below pretty much wraps up my boy this season…
