The suspense has been building up over the past month: who is the new face of Topshop’s first ever festive advert? A 17-second clip was released to “tease” us – titled as “Who’s that girl?.” The short clip features a blonde woman dressed in a spectacular sparkly red gown, just when you think the actress is about to be revealed – it stops. Topshop has continuously released clues to help people guess who the Hollywood starlet is.
There has been a lot of speculation just to who this mystery lady is but one name has stuck – Kate Bosworth. Bosworth, 29, is well known to be a fan of the high-street store. So it would be a match made in heaven! So taking this in to consideration is it her?
The secret lady was revealed today (Tuesday, 4th Decemeber) and speculation was right – it is Bosworth. She was confirmed as the face of the christmas advert earlier this morning. She explained why she decided to do the advert by saying ”This project brings together two important aspects of my life: cinema and fashion,”…”I have always been a fan of the Topshop brand, and it has been an honor to work with Sir Phillip [Green] and the team. I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as we did making it.”
The advert features the star in a long red dress, on a piano singing the song “Winter Wonderland.” This will be the first time Topshop has ever done anything like this. Topshop chief marketing officer Justin Cooke said: “There is still no greater inspiration than our icons, women have always aspired to look and feel like the stars of silver screen and we wanted to capture that emotion and the magic of Topshop to celebrate the festive season.”
The video will be going viral and available through any media outlet. All social media platforms, cinemas, billboards, Topshop.com and in Topshop stores on giant interactive screens. Check out the link below, it’ll definitely put you in the christmassy mood!
