Skype Calling Now on Sony PS Vita Console Also

Skype, a VOIP application which allows making voice and video on web is now available on the portable console of Sony PS Vita. Offered free as social software in the PlayStaion online store, Skype allows player to connect at anytime. Indeed, multitasking console lets leave it on in background.

This way, Skype can be opened simultaneously with other applications and the players can also make a video call even in the middle of a session of play at this time, the game will be paused and the player can resume once the call is completed. Players are notified of an incoming call through a window at the top and right of the console screen. Sony’s console has two cameras, one forward and one aft.

Remember, the conversation between Skype users is free but they become paid if a user is attached to his landline. This application is available on the PS Vita with the same options and features as the PC. As evidenced by the statement, this is the first time Skype is focused on a portable game player. The PS Vita was launched earlier this year.

Interested parties simply download the Skype application on their console from PlayStation Store. It is compatible with Wi-Fi and 3G. The PS Vita is available in $249 (only Wi-Fi) and $299 (Wi-Fi and 3G).
