Sister Time at the Yard, Ritz Carlton Georgetown ( #rcmemories )

By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1
In case if you follow me on Instagram, you would know that my first cousin and her family is visiting us from Dubai and we've had the best one week so far. There has been partying, dinners, drinks pretty much everyday.
My cousin and I might be seven years apart, but what brings us closer is fond memories of the time we spent together growing up and fashion of-course: you sure can tell from the picture....right!!  Besides fashion, one other thing we both have in common is the love for good food and last evening we had an awesome time chit-chatting , well bitching... over some amazingly delicious food and chilled cocktails at the most sought-after, happy hour spot in DC- The Yard at The Ritz Carlton Georgetown
Nestled in the heart of Georgetown, The Yard is the perfect hangout in case you are looking for a place to enjoy an undisturbed tete-a-tete with a girlfriend or your loved one. We got lucky as Wednesdays are DJ nights and nothing could have beat the excitement of being able to indulge in some specialty libations mixed to the sultry beats of DINO Beats & Beautiful Music, all sans kids and husbands. Don't feel shy to shake a leg or two, everyone's invited....

The Ambience

The ambience is casual and there is no dress-code per se. The Yard has it's own bar and menu, entirely separate form that of the Hotel. The yard is open Wednesday through Saturday 5pm-11pm and Sunday 11am-11pm.

The Food

The food is more like what you would expect at the happy hour place, tapas-style, just enough for two. The welcome drink Lavenderfroze ( pictured above in my sisters hand ), apparently a newer addition to the menu, was the most palatable way to dive into this entire culinary experience. Followed by the Chorizo sliders, truffle fries, shrimp and avocado crostini, chicken tenders and the roasted beet salad- it was just food-heaven! We had the Ritz cheesecake and chocolate domb for our last course of the day and saying that it was heavenly- would be a complete understatement!!

The Outfits

On me : Anthropologie skirt // Ann Taylor blouse // Zara heels  On my sister - Dolce and Gabbana dress // Gucci heels // Gucci bag
