Single In The City - Sushmita Bose
Ok! So how many times it happens that you are completely freaked out, living with your parents unnerves you like anything, and you feel like escaping to some far lil world of your own... I know a stupid question to ask! Obviously each one of us at some point or another have that adrenaline rush to move out. But whether living with your parents or moving to another city, each one comes with its own share of benefits and problems!
I had never heard of the author Sushmita Bose. I got to know she used to write a column in HT 'Single In the City' prior to writing the book. Like a newspaper's column, her writing style is what you feel like reading on a lazy winter day alone in bed with a hot cuppa of coffee, completely light, one can very much relate to it. Also, she has put almost every point to be considered if you living alone as a part of the story of her life, her independent years in Delhi.
Honestly, if somebody had just frisked through the book before buying instead of ordering online, there are chances you won't end up purchasing it because of the relatively large print(when I say this, its for the serious readers out there!) and also the caricatures after every 8-10 pages. Coming to mind a kids' book!? well it might seem like that at first. I would have never bought it on my own considering it to be teenager sort of book. It was by chance my sis got it and I appreciate that chance :)
