  • Dental care-In the morning, brush your teeth for 4 to 5 minutes and clean your tongue. After that, gargle with water to avoid the smell of toothpaste from your mouth and rinse mouth with mouthwash. Mouthwash kills germs and gives fresh feeling, which reduces the effect of morning bad breath.Do not forget to brush before bedtime. In the morning after you brush, drink plenty of water and do not eat for half an hour. This helps your mouth, throat and stomach get cleansed. This is important for your fresh breath. After every meal, rinse your mouth to avoid the growth of bacteria in your mouth.
  • Flossing- A habit of regular flossing help removes food particles from the mouth. Bacteria use food particles left in your mouth to grow, which causes bad breath and cavities.
  • Visit a dentist- Visit the dentist at least once in 3 months. Mostly dental problem causes bad breath. So if you are suffering from bad breath, then consult your dentist. But if your dentist realizes that there is another reason behind your bad breath, then he will refer you to a physician to find out the exact cause.
  • Avoid food which causes Bad breath-Foods such as onions, garlic, dairy food, meats, fish, eggs cause a breath problem. Such type of food promotes growth of oral bacteria. Instead, eat fresh vegetables and fruits, which are good for health. Avoid alcohol and tobacco.
  • Drink sufficient water Make a habit of drinking plenty of water daily, which prevent your mouth to become dry and removes bacteria and food particles from your mouth.
  • Quit habits such as smoking, chewing tobacco-Quit smoking as it is a major reason for bad breath. Your mouth becomes dry after you chew tobacco. Also, it leaves bad odor, which persists even after you brush your teeth.
  • Chew sugarless gum-Sugarless gum, which contains Xylitol are effective to prevent bad breath, as Xylitol kills mouth bacteria.

After all, it is very important to find out the root cause of bad breath and work on that. If your bad breath persists, even after you take care of these things, then consult your family physician. He will help find out if there are any medical conditions such as liver disease or diabetes behind the bad breath.
