Simple Life Lessons

By Healthhungry @Healthhungry
My grandmother passed away yesterday ~ she was nearing her 103rd birthday.  She lived in her farm home until last fall, and lived her last year in an assisted living situation - with more independence then most people get in the late stages of life.  She was a happy, loving spirit who gave a bear hug like no one I've ever known - so tight she'd squeeze the air out!  Today I am thinking of the things her life represented to me, and the lessons I believe she would want people to learn;
~Always Forgive
~Simplify
~Keep your brain sharp and active by reading, gardening, cooking, baking, doing art - and follow your heart's calling.
~Have faith
~Love your family
~Find Acceptance and Gratitude for what is
~Some times, it's okay to have popcorn for dinner - especially with your grandma, on her screened-in porch!
~Oatmeal sticks with you until lunch
~Read
~Trust your body's knowing
~Be humble
~Life doesn't always turn out like you planned, but you can make the best of it.
She lived a long healthy life, and was loved by many.  May we all be so fortunate!  Rest in Peace Gram...
