There is no need for processed sugar in your diet, although a small amount now and then really won’t hurt. Yes sugar is bad for you but this stuff is just something else entirely. There are natural alternatives available. Agave, coconut blossom nectar, Stevia. Even adding natural sugar still counts as “added sugar”, but keep the amount to a minimum – zero to a couple of grams per day, like in tea for example or healthy treats, and there should be no adverse health effects. There certainly won’t be any poisoning going on!
