"cleansing beauty oil, premium A/O, advanced formula"
As someone who has very oily skin and has to reapply matte pressed powder a few times a day, the idea of using oil to wash my face and remove all my make-up frankly scared me. I pushed it to the back of my shelf until I was ready to test it out, knowing that if it went wrong I didn't have any special events or nights out that any giant spots it may cause, would ruin.
"Application: 1. Take 3 - 4 pumps of cleansing oil onto the palms of dry hands. 2. Gently smooth over dry face. 3. Wet face to emulsify cleansing oil. 4. Rinse thoroughly with water."
I find that 3 - 4 pumps is actually too much, and I use just 1 pump for my face and 1 pump to focus on my eyes and removing mascara etc. The concept of this product is totally new to me. I usually use a wet muslin cloth(you can pick up two muslin cloths by The Sanctuary at Boots for £4) to wipe my face, apply my chosen cleanser and then use the muslin cloth to remove the product thoroughly.
After massaging the oil around my face, I wet my hands and emulsify the product which turns to a white milky substance. I massage for a bit longer and then use a muslin cloth to wipe away the product, and I wipe my face normally about three times to ensure all of it has been removed.
With the cleanser I normally use I almost get that 'squeaky clean' feeling but without the tightness. With this skin purifier I don't get any tightness and I don't get that extra clean feeling, it almost feels like I've already moisturised my face. My skin feels really soft and there are no traces of make-up left. In terms of my skin, it definitely looks clearer, and the amount of blemishes I've got has reduced. The only downside of this product I find is the price, which is around the £28 mark. I've worked with Shu Uemura hair products for the past year, and I know that are amazing products, that are highly concentrated but also expensive. If my budget allowed (which is currently doesn't) I would definitely repurchase this as I have seen and reaped the benefits of it, plus the packaging is really nice and sleek and would look really nice on my bathroom shelf. Though until then, I will be sticking to my Clarins cleanser which is around half the price.
Have you used any Shu Uemura products? Which ones and what did you think? Have you changed your products to match your budget? I'd love to know!
