Should Christians Keep Sabbath?

Posted on the 12 June 2014 by Savio Menezes

Hello everybody. Today I will discuss about Sabbath.Sabbath is a day of rest that Jehovah ordered Israelites to keep. It is to be kept on seventh day of every week (Saturday). This day is dedicated to Jehovah and any sort of work is not allowed.
Moses Law was abolished when Jesus Christ died on the cross. Sabbath was also abolished with the Law. Secondly out of Ten Commandments only nine commandments are mentioned in the New Testament but Sabbath keeping is not mentioned (third commandment).
Now there are some sects in Christianity like Seventh Day Adventists that mention that Sabbath should be followed and blame other sects for not keeping Sabbath. They also blame Roman Catholics of changing worship day from Saturday to Sunday. Following verses are for them.
Let no man therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day, which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s. Colossians 2: 16-17
Above verses warn those sects not to judge anybody on basis Sabbath keeping.
On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread........ Acts 20:7
Above verse shows that Apostles and early Christians gathered on Sunday and not on Saturday for worship.
