Shopping : A Not-So-Expensive Mango Haul and Wishlist

By Kaye

Hi lovelies! As promised, here I am trying to escape from my busy schedule to write a sentence or two so just you know that I’m still here :). Last week, I got so busy with my Professional Education class. I was so punctual that I never missed a class, it’s just that, most of our professors didn’t meet due to multitude reasons. Sigh!

This is a long-overdue post, this has been in my draft for quite sometime now before I got my time to actually post it :)

Going back to education topic, I mentioned in my last post that I’m teaching in our local nursing college and so far, I’m enjoying my job save for the sore throat that I always take home after a 5-hour of non-stop talking and blabbing. I sincerely wish that I could continue teaching because I really love doing it. It feels great at the end of the day knowing that the students go back to their home with something new instilled on their minds.

Anyway, this is not supposed to be a rant but rather a haul and shopping post so shall we begin?

Two weeks ago, I got the chance to shop. I mean to shop at malls coz here in my hometown, there are no big malls and you can imagine the scarcity of good quality apparels in the shelves. So Mall of Asia here I come! I grew tired of seeing and drooling on what is displayed on the shelves and mannequins. Everywhere I go, splash of colors are so inviting and seems to pull you in and hypnotize you to buy anything. Good that I’m a changed woman now. I don’t easily give in in to temptation. One good reason is, I’m not working. Well, except for the part-time job as a college instructor, I rely on hubby for all my expenses and yes I’m a student too which means I need money for my daily school allowance. In other words, I have to save :)

Well, not really coz I can’t resist on these Mango items. My friends knew that I collect scarves thus when I saw this dragonfly scarf from Mango, I grabbed it without a second thought.

Mango scarf

I love Mango scarves. Back when I was still working as OFW in Saudi Arabia, it became a habit to sneak on their boutique to see what new scarves collection they have. If they’re on sale, it will make my day. Even on days when scarves are sold on regular price, as long as I have the budget I don’t mind spending for scarves because as a hijabi in really need it. What I like about Mango scarves is that, most of them are maxi and sometimes even super maxi. It provides great chest coverage and the materials are so light and comfy that you could barely feel the weight on your head.

So this is me and hubby posing wearing my Mango Dragonfly scarf. Sorry, I had to blur our faces coz obviously I only wanted to show the scarf :)

Another item I bought from Mango is this flowy oversized light shirt. The one I’m wearing in the pic is the coral one.

Oversized flowy shirt

I never regret that I bought it coz it’s so light and perfect for the summer-y all-year round kinda weather here in my hometown.

Here’s the last item I bought from Mango, a cotton chino trouser in yellow hue.

Cotton chinos from Mango

It’s so light and comfy. I haven’t worn it yet since I bought it hence no pic to post :).

Before I moved back to the Philippines, I got the chance to shop for some Mango scarves which include this red frayed made from bamboo fibers which is Eco-friendly. It’s probably one of the lightest scarf I owned to date.

I know, I’m a confessed Mango scarves-holic but I find this very interesting coz this frayed off-white Mango scarf which cost over a thousand pesos had a dupe which I got at only P 450 but of course from a scarf company from Pakistan or India. You can’t tell the difference save for the company tag.

Then down to my wishlist :), most of my friends know that I love anything polka dot. I adore polka dots and maybe that explains why I am into collecting polka dot scarves. Here is an orange polka Mango scarves that I want to have next…..

I also love paisley scarves. Pakistan or India-made paisley scarves are lovely but this one from Mango would sure be a cool addition to my collection.

I have so much activities to blog about but just don’t find time to write it down :) I hope to connect with you again soon with another random post or if you have topics in mind please do let me know in the comment box below.
