When I received my acceptance into the People StyleWatch Style Hunters Community I was ECSTATIC!!

Almost immediately, they sent me this welcome gift to review.

Drawing inspiration from the Japanese word IBUKI {inner strength, renewal, resilient enough to endure & emerge beautiful} the Ready for Anything Skin Set uses exclusive technology to super-hydrate cells & enhance the skin’s resistance to harsh elements.

So did the line live up to the claims on my combination, super sensitive & fair skin?

I received a 2 week supply of the Gentle Cleanser, Softening Concentrate & Refining Moisturizer.

SHISEIDO IBUKI Gentle Cleanser $30 {full size}

Claims

“An extra gentle cleanser that lathers quickly into a rich foam to remove impurities and harmful excess sebum without stripping away skin’s essential moisture. Skin feels refreshed and silky-smooth to the touch”.

Pros

My first SHISEIDO experience.
Was excellent at removing makeup, especially waterproof mascara/eyeliner.
A little goes a long way, which makes the price tag a tad more bearable.

Cons

Dried my face out.
Left residue on my hands that transferred to my contacts.
Burned my eyes & nose because I wasn’t expecting such an intense lather.
I experienced irritation & breakouts after 1 use. I used for several more days & the irritation became worse so I discontinued use.
Too perfumed for my taste.
Price tag.

Verdict

The cleanser reminded me of a drugstore brand I tried years ago {the name escapes me}. I would not purchase & my husband will be using the remainder of the bottle. Sorry SHISEIDO!

SHISEIDO IBUKI Softening Concentrate $24 {full size}

Claims

“By supplying skin with generous moisture, this deep-infusion formula helps deliver immediately effective ingredients into the skin for a softer, smoother feel. Enhances the benefits of the skincare that follows”.

Pros

Replenished the moisture that the cleanser stripped away.
Removed any leftover dirt/oil/makeup that the cleanser left behind.
Lightly scented.
Worked well with my everyday cleanser that I had to resume using.
Did not irritate my skin.

Cons

I found myself using probably more product than necessary because it was more lotion like {a pump would be a nice feature on the full size; not sure how the bottle is designed}.
Price tag.

Verdict

I like the product but I don’t LOVE it enough to purchase with a $24 price tag & being 1/3 of a skin care regimen.

SHISEIDO IBUKI Refining Moisturizer $45 {full size}

Claims

“This multi-action formula intensively corrects the appearance of unevenness such as visible pores, breakouts/ blemish marks and skin roughness. It renews the skin’s surface, revealing an incredibly smooth, uniform texture, while keeping skin hydrated all day long.”

Pros

The PERFECT moisturizer texture. Not heavy, greasy or difficult to distribute.
Lightly scented.
My face looks & feel wonderful after using.
Makeup glides on & stays put for me.
Did not irritate my skin.

Cons

Since I my skin is intolerable of makeup with SPF, I have to use SPF in my daytime moisturizer. I would only be able to use as a daytime moisturizer on days that I don’t leave the house because it does not contain SPF.
I did not notice any firming qualities of the moisturizer, which is starting to become more & more important for me.
Price Tag.
I prefer my moisturizer bottle to have a pump.

Verdict

I’m still on the fence about purchasing for myself. However, if you can tolerate makeup with SPF I would recommend this moisturizer. It feels amazing!
