Detroit producer/drummer Shigeto is known for a brand of groove-heavy-yet-emotional instrumental hip-hop that combines live instrumentation with glitchy synthesizers and samples. He’s just released “Ringleader,” the second single from his forthcoming album No Better Time Than Now, a galloping, ostinato-laden jam that combines marimba with orchestra bells, a shuffling tom-tom backbeat, and shimmering pads.
