Sharp LCD Panel Production Starting IGZO World's First
Sharp has announced that it has begun production of LCD screens that use IGZO oxide semiconductor.By using IGZO, Sharp will be able to produce LCD screens that are very suitable for mobile devices such as notebooks, tablets and smartphones. IGZO technology can have low power consumption OLED screen that comes close, but with lower costs and a thickness of only 25% thicker than OLEDs. Sharp has transformed Kameyama No. 2 Plant, manufacturing was used to make LCD panels for televisions, for producing the display small and medium size for smartphones and other mobile devices. 
When iPad 3 was released, reportedly Sharp can not meet demand for Apple to produce high-resolution IPS screen for the iPad, although before the tablet is released there are rumors saying that technology will replace the IPS IGZO for iPad 3 . Now with the official statement that Sharp has been producing IGZO for mobile devices, rumors emerged that the iPhone, iPad or even the iMac and Apple TV all subsequent uses Sharp's IGZO screen. Does this mean IGZO is the future for low-power screens for mobile?
