Shahi Tukra is Nawabi dessert which prepared with fried bread soaked in sugar syrup and topped with chilled rabri and nuts. It’s a royal treat which look so tasty and crunchy. Shahi Tukda is perfect royal dessert to prepare for special occasions and Indian ceremonies. If you are health conscious, then you can toss the bread with little butter instead of fried version and use sugar free to prepare rabri.
Preparation Time: 20 Minutes Cooking Time: 15 Minutes Servings: 4 Category: Indian Mithai Ingredients: 4 Bread Slices Oil for Frying 1 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Water Few Saffron Strands Few Chopped Nuts (Almonds, raisins, pistachios and cashews) Rabri Instructions: Heat the water in pan, when water starts boiling, add sugar and cook until to dissolve. Prepare one string consistency sugar syrup and add saffron and mix it. Keep aside. Cut the bread slices into triangle shape. Heat the sufficient oil in pan and deep fry them until to golden and crisp. Remove them on kitchen towel to drain excess oil. Soak the fried bread slices into sugar syrup for 5-7 minutes. Place the bread slices into plate and pour chilled rabri. Garnish with chopped nuts and saffron and serve chill. Notes: If you are calorie conscious, then just the roast the bread slices with little greased oil.
