At least seven people including four levies personnel were killed and several others injured in Peshawar on Monday when gunmen, wearing the Levies uniforms, attacked on the office of a political agent.
According to eyewitnesses, the Jirga of different political parties was being held in the Political Agents office at the time of attack.
The attack was followed by the heavy gunfire, in which four Levies Personnel and a citizen were killed while nine people sustained injuries.
The dead bodies and injured were rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital, where two more injured succumbed to their wounds. Three injured are still reported to be in critical condition.
No group has claimed the responsibility of the attack so far.
