Seven killed in DI Khan bomb blast
At least seven people, including four children were killed and several others wounded when a remote-controlled bomb exploded near Muharram procession in at Bannu Chungi in Dera Ismail Khan here on Saturday morning.
According to bomb disposal squad, 8-10 kilograms of explosives were used in the locally made bomb, which was planted in a dustbin. The blast was powerful and heard several kilometres away.
Three children were dead on spot, while four other people succumbed to their wounds in hospital. .
Immediately after the attack, police cordoned of the site of the blast and arrested a suspicious person from there. The injured were rushed to the District Headquarters.
No group has claimed the responsibility of blasts so far but Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, a banned notorious anti-Shia group, has carried out this sort of blasts on the Shia Muslims across the country in the recent years, in which myriad Shias, who account for around 20% of the population, have lost their lives.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has strongly condemned the blast and sought detailed inquiry report of the incident.
