Seeking a Publisher for The Long-Term Traveler's Guide

By Livingthedreamrtw @livingdreamrtw
The Long-Term Traveler's Guide As you may be aware, in early 2012 we released our first self-published travel book, The Long-Term Traveler's Guide.  Since then we have published several articles about the guide including our ten part Writing a Travel Book series which will be concluding in the next few weeks.  The guide is the culmination of many years of research, traveling, and writing on all aspects of long-term travel; becoming the definitive handbook for those looking to head off and explore the world on a long-term journey.
Over the last two months since the book was first released in print and our special digital package, the guide has been slowly released for the numerous popular reader devices that are currently available including Kindle, NOOK, and Apple's iPad (finally released in late April 2012).  Now that the guide is available in all mediums, we need your help!  We are currently seeking a publisher for this great resource and need everyone's help getting the publishing world's attention to our little corner of the travel universe.
Ways You Can Help
  • Purchase a copy of The Long-Term Traveler's Guide in your favorite format if you are interested in the topic. The guide is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, the iBookstore for iPad, and the book's website!
  • Give us a review on any of the major websites we sell the guide on (listed above) and let us know about it.
  • Retweet, 'Like', or Stumble this article and the guide's website to get the word out to the publishing community.  Some major publishing company's Twitter handles include @PenguinUSA @PenguinBooksAus and @RandomHouse if you wish to include them in your Tweets.
  • Share this article and the guide's website with friends or contacts who may be interested in reading or know someone who can help out.
  • Finally, please comment below to show your support!
Although The Long-Term Traveler's Guide has only been out for a little over 2 months, it has been receiving great reviews from past long-term travelers, major travel companies, and future travelers who are currently planning their own journey.  With this post, we are now beginning our media campaign to not only promote the book, but to get the attention of every travel publisher in the industry to help our book find homes on traveler's bookshelves around the world.  But to get the attention of the major publishing companies, we need your help in any way you can give it!
What's Next?
Our media campaign is going to take us on a few interesting paths over the next few weeks.  As the details get finalized we'll post more information about our advertising campaign in Part 10 of the Writing a Travel Book series when it goes live in a few weeks.  For now, here are a couple upcoming promotions we are putting together:
  • A new contest to coincide with a review from a major travel company
  • Local book signings and Q&A sessions in Dayton, Ohio and Pittsburgh, PA regions (starting local then expanding out)
  • A new Webinar series with Art of Travel Blogging on writing and self-publishing
  • ...and more!
So as we begin our media campaign and search for a publisher, we would love it if you could help share the word in any way possible!  The buttons for social media for this post are located below and on the right of the website and we would love to hear what you think by commenting below!
