As Empire joked, it's been the worst kept secret since the title of the film, and was leaked on the Internet earlier this week, but I have finally managed to hear Adele's theme tune for Skyfall, and I have to confess that I'm impressed.
I liked the song that Jack White and Alicia Keys put together for Quantum of Solace, but like the film, I always felt like it was lacking something. The song didn't feel like James Bond to me, which is a shame because Alicia Keys has the perfect belting voice for it.
So, I'm over the moon to hear (literally) that Adele has taken the theme tune back to its roots as it sounds very grand, very bold and very James Bond. I've heard a few people comparing it to Diamonds are Forever, and I kind of agree, but I don't see that as a bad thing, because Diamonds is without doubt one of the best themes that a Bond film has had.
