SC Ordered Police to Arrest Shahzeb Khan’s Murderers in 24 Hours

Shahzeb KhanThe Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday ordered police to arrest the accused in the Shahzeb Khan Murder Case and present a challan within 24 hours.

The apex court also directed the authorities to freeze the bank accounts of the accused and cancel their passports.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is hearing the case in which 20-year-old Shahzeb Khan, who was allegedly murdered by the nephew of an influential feudal Shahrukh Jatoi in Defence area of Karachi on last month.

The Chief Justice  expressed anger over IG and Sindh Advocate General for not appearing before the court and the former was directed to come without his uniform on the next hearing if accused were not arrested.

The court also expressed resentment over authorities for their failure to nominate Sharukh Jatoi’s father Sikander Jatoi in the investigation. Chief Justice also ordered to arrest the aides who helped the accused to escape.

The murder of Shahzeb Khan resulted from a small argument he had with Nawab Siraj Talpur, when the latter’s servant harassed his sister. Talpur and his friend, Jatoi, allegedly followed Shahzeb Khan and gunned him down near the Country Club within the remit of Darakhshan police station.
