Savoury Potato Rose Rolls #BreadBakers

By Sharanya

For this month's bread bakers Pavani of Cooks hideout has given the choice to make bread with fall vegetables and fruits.

We all prefer savoury bakes than the sweet ones. I decided to make these potato rose rolls.

Kids will surely love these rolls and it will be a great finger food for parties.

Savoury Potato Rose Rolls #BreadBakers

Homemade Whole wheat flour - 3 cup

Ginger garlic paste - ½ tsp

In a bowl , add the flour , salt , sugar , yeast and mix well.

Add in the luke warm water and knead the dough well for about ten minutes.

Apply the oil in a bowl and place the kneaded dough and cover it with cling wrap.

Let the dough double in size.

In the mean time , prepare the stuffing.

Boil the potatoes. Peel off the skin and chop the potatoes.

In a pan , heat the oil , add in the chopped onion and sauté till translucent.

Add the ginger garlic paste and chopped green chilli and sauté for a minute.

Add in the boiled potatoes and mix well.

Add the chilli powder , coriander powder and salt , let it cook in simmer for five minutes.

Now , add the garam masala , give a quick stir and take off flame. Let the stuffing cool.

Divide the stuffing into equal parts and roll into balls.

Punch in the doubled dough and divide into equal parts. Roll each into round thick disc.

With a sharp knife make diagonal slits on four side from outer to inner leaving the center intact. We get four segments.

Place the filling in the center and take a segement of the dough disc up and cover half of the filling.

Take the segment which is opposite to the first segment and cover the other half of filling.

Then the third segment has to be wrapped around first and second followed by fourthsegment.

Seal the edges well and shape the whole rose into round with the hand.

Repeat the same with the remaining dough.

Place the shaped rolls on the baking tray and let it for second rise.

Brush each roll with milk and sugar mixture.

Bake in the preheated oven @ 200*C for 30 minutes.

Let it cool and serve.

Savoury Potato Rose rolls are ready to be served.
