Saumya in the City- the Melrose Georgetown Hotel Dc

By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1
Welcome to The Melrose- a boutique hotel in Georgetown and the perfect escape from the hustle-bustle of everyday city life. From the outside this would appear like any other ordinary hotel structure, but the second you step in- you’ll be transported to a world of your own. A world that appears loud and busy outside, but calm and whimsical inside. melrose hotel, DC blogger, travel blog, travel blogger, staycation, myriad musings, saumya shiohare georgetown DC hotels

Popularly known as Melrose Georgetown, I was completely enamored by the opulence and aesthetics. From lighting to decor, wall-art to linen, furniture to rug everything was so thoughtfully put together. What caught my attention was the floor-to-ceiling shelves of books, yes you heard it right- a luxury library awaits all you bibliophiles interested in a great book. All guests are welcome to grab a book, order a drink and snuggle by the fireplace for a thorough relaxation. Well, we chose an all different route and preferred staying in our suite for most part. The sweeping view from our suite on the 8th floor activated the full-on staycation mode for us. Ideally, we like to tour locally when on a vacation, but the when the suite is so relaxing, cozy, bright and well-equipped with all in-room amenities you can imagine- who would want to hula-hoop with the crowd outside!!

Initially, I was going to keep it low-key sartorially, but who wouldn't want to play dress up when the decor makes for that amazing photo backdrop.  The bar was by far may favorite on the lobby level, followed with that vibrant orange ottomans- coziest set up for anyone seeking a quiet moment.

This picture below is from the Presidential Suite- their most-coveted suite on the 8th floor. With a terrace of it's soon, this suite is a guest's dream. We could have been the proud occupant, but it wasn't available for the dates I chose for the staycation.

The pictures below are from our suite, straight across from the Presidential suite. With a king-size bed, a pull-out futon and one and a half bathroom, this suite could easily accommodate a family of four, oh and did I mention the breakfast table for four??
Miss Riri and I had the best time nestling in our suite. We played dress up, she got to play around with my makeup, we read books without having to worry about bed time, we lounged in our matching pjs, we watched TV, we played board games, and just chilled- stuff that we don't get to do so often owing to our her busy calendar. She loved having mommy and daddy sans laptop/cellphones to herself.

Except for the dinner reservation at Jardenea, we were pretty much in our suite. We stayed up till late watching TV and playing board games and woke up to this amazing fit-for-a-queen ( as I like to call it ) breakfast spread. Everything was so well presented and carefully prepared. You know the breakfast is good when your picky-eater finishes up most of it.
So the next time you are in DC and looking for accommodation in the heart of downtown without downtown prices,  do consider 'Melrose Georgetown'- it will surely be worth!
Thank you ' Melrose Georgetown' for the star-like treatment. We had the most memorable staycation. Hope to see you soon......
