Sandra Bullock & Melissa McCarthy to Star in Buddy Cop Comedy

Sandra Bullock & Melissa McCarthy to Star in Buddy Cop ComedySandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy will be teaming up for a cop comedy to be directed by Helmer Paul Feig (Bridesmaid).

Variety reports that the untitled film is a project of 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment to be directed and executive produced by Helmer Paul Feig and scripted by Parks and Recreation writer Katie Dippold. The project also marks the reunion of Feig and McCarthy.

The story follows the strained working relationship between a high-strung FBI agent (played by Bullock) and an unconventional Boston cop (played by McCarthy) who team to take down a Russian gangster.

Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Dylan Clark are producing for Chernin Entertainment. Shooting for the project takes place this summer after Melissa finishes Seth Gordon’s Universal comedy ‘Identity Thief’.

Sandra Bullock, the Academy Award Winner for the Best Actress for her role in The Blind Side next stars in Alfonso Cuaron’s space thriller ‘Gravity’, which Warner Bros. Pushed to a 2013 release.

McCarthy will be seen in the Judd Apatow comedy ‘This is 40′, slated for a December release.
