For this special night, Sami Yusuf directed an ensemble of highly accomplished musicians from around the globe in this celebration of mystical music and poetry. This concert marks a turning point for the artist in that many of his compositions and arrangements found here are inspired by traditional musical systems and performed on traditional instruments. These pieces reflect not only the unique beauty of the diverse regional legacies represented, but also the composer’s passion for refining and redefining this heritage for a new generation.
