Saleem Mandviwala has been appointed as New Finance Minister of Pakistan following the resignation of Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.
Hafeez Shaikh, who assumed the ministerial slot in April 2010 following resignation of Shaukat Tarin, had tendered his resignation on Tuesday amid speculation that he might be offered an important post in the caretaker set-up, including the caretaker prime minister.
Saleem Mandviwala was previously serving as the State Minister for Finance.
