Sailors' Secrets

By Sailingguide
With Labor Day past and fall fast approaching, many sailors' thoughts are turning to winter haul-out and winterizing. To combat those depressing thoughts, I like also to start thinking about boat improvements I might be able to make before doing my own shrink wrapping. But before I go too far in making plans, I always check my bookshelf to ensure I'm doing it the best (and cheapest) way. One of my favorite helpers  there is Sailors' Secret, a compendium of great ideas from the masters about dealing with all sorts of boat stuff. Altogether, the book contains something like a thousand short articles, some a brief paragraph while others may fill a page, giving tips on handling and maintaining a sailboat and a wide range of seamanship topics. It's also a good read to help pass those snowy winter days!
