Saif and Kareena greet people soon after their marriage
Swashbuckling Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor tied the knot in a much-anticipated wedding ceremony at Saif’s Bandra home in Mumbai on Tuesday. Saif and Kareena, who was dating since 2007, exchanged the vows this afternoon in the presence of close friends and family.
“It was a registered marriage with three witnesses — Kareena’s father Randhir Kapoor, her mother Babita and Saif’s mother Sharmila,” marriage Registrar Surekha Ramesh said.
After registering the marriage Saif and Kareena — the couple is also called Saifeena — appeared in the balcony and greeted the people as Mr and Mrs.
Saif was looking handsome in gray kurta and white pajama while luxurious yellowish-black sunglasses were adding conspicuous glory to his persona.
Kareena was dressed up in green salwar-kurta with an embroidered red dupatta swathed around her. With this the open hair, red bangles and light jewelry was reflecting the illustration of an archetypal Indian bride.
Saif and Kareena will have a nikaah ceremony at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel this evening which will be followed by a reception in New Delhi on Thursday.
This is Kareena Kapoor’s first and Saif Ali Khan’s second marriage. Saif, the Nawab of Pataudi and a billionaire owning number of business conglomerates; was previously married to actress Amrita Singh and has two kids with her. Both separated in 2004.
Prior to Saif, Kareena had dated Shahid Kapoor before they separated during the shooting of hit-flick movie ‘Jab We Met’.
Meanwhile, Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan wished good health and happiness for Saif and Kareena.
“Happiest marriage bond to my friends Saif and Kareena. May Allah keep your family healthy and happy. Just saw it is registered, sealed and delivered,” tweeted Shah Rukh Khan.
